Private Lessons

Private lessons are held one-on-one at my studio.  If you wish to take a lesson with a friend, that is certainly possible and an enjoyable time to paint or draw together.  These private lessons are very flexible in terms of what you would like to learn.  The subjects range from beginner or advanced drawing, portraits, figure drawing, oil painting, pastel painting, and other topics that may interest you.   Another flexible part of my lessons is that you get to pick the time and date, making it the best and most convenient for your schedules.  Whether you’re a beginner or advanced in the arts, the lessons are geared toward making you a  more creative, relaxed, focused, and better artist when it comes to the growth of your skill and technique.  All students leave happy.  Call me at 540.878.3681 to setup a class.  Let’s get drawing!
Prices are as follows:

  • One hour – $40.00
  • Two hours – $60.00
  • Three hours – $75.00

  1. 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B Pencils
  2. Pencil Sharpener
  3. Kneaded Eraser
  4. Regular White Eraser
  5. Sanding Board
  6. Paper Blending Sticks
  7. 14″ x 17″  “large” drawing pad
  8. 11″ x 14″  “medium” drawing pad

Supplies needed for Oil Painting:

  1. Cadmium Red, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow, Permanent Rose, Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue,  Chromium Oxide Green, Sap Green, Permanent Green, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Titanium White, and Ivory Black
  2. Metal air tight brush washer
  3. Turpenoid
  4. 11″ x 14″ canvas
  5. 16″ x 20″ canvas
  6. Size 10, 6, 4, and 2 Filbert brushes
  7. Size 8, 6, 4, 3, and 1 Round brushes
  8. Glass palette or covered palette with disposable paper palette
